What we analyse
Is this assessment right for you?
This assessment may be right for you if you have a family history of heart disease or stroke, want deeper insight than a basic cholesterol test provides, have borderline blood pressure, are over 40 and looking for reassurance, or prefer early insight rather than waiting for symptoms.
Why the Cardiac Health
Assessment is different
Most heart checks focus on total cholesterol alone. Our Heart and Cardiac Health Assessment combine three clinical stages to provide a deeper, more complete assessment of your cardiovascular risk. Your results are reviewed together by our clinicians to give you clear answers and practical steps to reduce risk where needed.
Your three-stage
Health Assessment
Venous blood testing
Advanced cholesterol markers and HbA1c testing by trained pharmacists - not finger-prick kits.
Professional measurements
Accurate blood pressure, pulse and BMI taken in person.
Doctor-designed risk assessment
QRisk3 Heart Age calculation uses lifestyle data alongside measurements and blood analysis to assess your overall cardiovascular profile.
Find your pharmacy
Find a convenient pharmacy near you and book a time that fits your schedule. With 150+ locations across the UK, you’re likely to have one within a 30-minute journey.
Appointments are available within three working days, with evening and weekend options.
Why choose us
Our Cardiac Health Assessment offers a smarter balance of depth, accessibility, and value compared to other options.

What the Cardiac Health Assessment checks
This assessment provides a detailed picture of your cardiovascular risk by assessing key markers linked to heart disease, stroke and metabolic health. All results are interpreted together - not in isolation.
Includes a full lipid profile (HDL and LDL cholesterol), blood pressure and pulse to assess overall cardiovascular health.
Measures HbA1c and BMI to help identify early signs of diabetes and metabolic risk.
Uses liver function tests to check how well your liver is working.
Includes the QRisk3 Heart Age calculator to estimate your long-term risk of heart attack or stroke.

FAQs
You do not usually need to fast for this assessment unless advised otherwise. We recommend arriving well hydrated for your appointment, as this can make venous blood sampling easier.
This assessment is designed for preventative insight. If you are currently under specialist cardiac care or have known heart disease, we recommend speaking to your clinician before booking.
Your questionnaire helps our clinicians build a complete picture of your health, so your results are interpreted in context and come with clear, personalised next steps.
Yes, you can reschedule up to 48 hours in advance of your appointment. To reschedule, please call the Doctor Care Anywhere Health Assessment PX team on 020 4646 9390. Lines are open between 9.00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
A trained pharmacy professional will take your physical measurements - such as blood pressure and BMI - and collect your blood sample in a private consultation room.
Appointments typically take around 15 minutes.
Measurements such as blood pressure and BMI provide essential context for your blood results, allowing us to give you more accurate and tailored advice.
Posting the sample directly helps speed up the process. Sending it immediately after your appointment reduces delays and helps ensure your results reach the laboratory as quickly as possible.
To support a more seamless process, we recommend you make a note on the Royal Mail tracking ID on the parcel - so you can track the progress of your sample.
Once you have posted your sample and completed your questionnaire, your personalised report will usually be available within five working days of your appointment.
Yes. If any follow-up is needed, a clinician will contact you directly. If everything looks normal but you would still like to discuss your report, you can contact our dedicated Health Assessment PX team on 020 4646 9390 between 9.00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday to request a phone or video consultation. Treatment may be prescribed where appropriate.
If any urgent or significant findings are identified, a clinician will proactively contact you to explain what they mean and guide you through the appropriate next steps.
Your report will be available in your Doctor Care Anywhere account, and you can download or print it to share with your GP if you wish. It is not automatically sent.
No. This assessment is designed for preventative health insight. If you need urgent medical help, contact NHS 111, call 999, or attend your nearest emergency department.
Health Assessments are a standalone service, so pricing is the same for all patients, including existing Doctor Care Anywhere members and those with private medical insurance.
