Clinical Standards

Care that meets the highest bar, every time

Whoever you see at Doctor Care Anywhere, and whenever you book, you should expect the same thing: rigorous, evidence-based care from a clinician who's fully qualified for the job in front of them.

That consistency doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of clear standards for who we recruit, how we train them, and how we hold ourselves accountable, appointment after appointment.

Who provides your care

GPs

Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a current licence to practise in the UK. Every GP has at least five years' post-graduation experience, gained through the NHS or private practice, and is monitored annually through the NHS appraisal system — the same revalidation process used across the health service.

Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs)

Highly skilled clinicians who've completed postgraduate training and master's-level qualifications in clinical practice. They can assess, diagnose, prescribe, treat, and refer patients independently within their scope of practice.

Mental Health Practitioners

Specialise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health presentations, including anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, and stress.

Physiotherapists

Specialise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, from back and neck pain to joint and muscle symptoms.

Recruitment and ongoing performance

Every clinician who joins Doctor Care Anywhere goes through rigorous recruitment and receives bespoke training in delivering care remotely, a skill that's different from an in-person consultation and one we don't assume comes automatically with clinical experience.

That standard doesn't stop at onboarding. We run continuous performance management and governance oversight to monitor quality, support development, and maintain high standards of care throughout their time with us.

Time to do the job properly

Appointments run for up to 20 minutes, giving clinicians the space to properly understand a concern rather than rush toward a prescription. Where a condition calls for it, clinicians can issue open referrals and fit notes.

Knowing the limits of remote care

Good clinical standards mean knowing what shouldn't be treated remotely, not just what can be. Our clinicians are trained to recognise when a condition needs emergency care, an in-person examination, or ongoing specialist management, and to redirect patients accordingly rather than attempt to manage everything within a video or phone consultation.

Meeting regulatory standards

Our identity verification, safeguarding, and record-keeping processes are designed to meet the guidelines set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), ensuring the same standards of safety and integrity you'd expect from any regulated UK healthcare provider.

Accountable when things go wrong

If you ever feel our clinical standards haven't been met, we want to hear about it. Contact our Patient Experience team at contactus@doctorcareanywhere.com or 0330 088 4980, and for formal complaints, our full process is set out in section 10 of our Terms and Conditions.
