Book appointment

Booking an appointment with Doctor Care Anywhere only takes a minute and we're open 24/7, 365 days a year. Simply login via your device or desktop, answer a few questions about your health concern, find a time that works for you and book your appointment - consultations are usually available within a few hours.

  • Select your health concern and answer a few questions on our pre-consultation questionnaire regarding your symptoms.
  • You can then select a phone or video consultation and choose the GP or Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) by their name (if you've seen them before), by the areas they specialise in or by gender.
  • You'll also be a able to upload photographs, documents and add any medical history you would like to share before your appointment.

Have a consultation

You’ll get a reminder email or text 10 minutes before your appointment is due to start. Make sure you’ve got good internet connection or clear phone reception and that you’re sitting somewhere comfy and not too noisy.

  • Speak to a clinician on your smartphone, computer, tablet or landline at the time you’ve chosen
  • Get secure access to your patient records to discuss any previous history noted on your Doctor Care Anywhere record with your doctor
  • Read through your updated notes after your consultation so you know exactly what you need to do to get yourself on the mend

Get the right treatment

After your appointment, the GP or ACP will type up all the notes from your consultation and add them to your patient record.

  • In the UK choose to have your medication delivered to your door within as little as 4 hours* or collect them from a nearby pharmacy.

  • Any private referrals or fit notes will be uploaded to your patient record after your consultation for you to download and share with other healthcare professionals

Frequently asked

Can I get a same day appointment?

Most of our patients can get an appointment on the same day.

Can I speak to a clinician when I am abroad?

You can speak to one of our GPs or ACPs for advice regarding your health concern from wherever you are in the world.

Will Doctor Care Anywhere keep a record of my conversation with the clinician?

All of your interactions on Doctor Care Anywhere are accessible to you at any time. From your consultation notes, bookings, referrals, fit notes, and anything else you may have uploaded will be stored on your secure and confidential record. You can also download your consultation notes, referral letters and fit notes as a PDF and share with your NHS GP, insurer, employer and other healthcare professionals.

Can I use the service if I am hard of hearing?

Yes, absolutely. However, if you suffer from hearing difficulties, we recommend that you book video rather than telephone appointments. We've found that people who are heard of hearing often benefit from video consultations as they allow patients to watch their clinician speak, which can help users with lipreading abilities.

We also offer a typing option in video appointments that allows you to communicate with your clinician via a keyboard. All advice, guidance and self-management recommendations are then published in your appointment notes, along with patient information leaflets and supporting links to other helpful information. This is all uploaded to your account approximately four hours after your consultation and is accessible anytime.

Depending on the outcome of your consultation, when you're in the UK you may receive an ePrescription, saving you the hassle of arranging a medication collection at a pharmacy. Your prescription will be available directly from your account after your consultation. Depending on your location, you can then arrange to have your medication delivered to your door or sent to any of our participating pharmacies so you can pick it up at your convenience.

Can I use the service is I am visually impaired?

Yes, please do! For visually impaired patients, we recommend calling our Patient Experience team on 0330 088 4980 who will be able to assist you in booking a telephone consultation. At the time of your appointment, your clinician will call you and consult with you over the phone.

Should you require any follow-up care, such as prescriptions when you're in the UK or specialist referrals, our Patient Experience team will call you after your consultation to explain how to best access your treatment and book any follow-up care.
