Striving to achieve true equity - by Laura Clarke

Pride

Pride has come far over the years, but there's still more to achieve.

Within the LGBTQIA+ community, there are concerns around acceptance within the workplace. It is important for us to consider how we can help, especially in the context of being in a remote environment.

I'd like to think that being part of this community wouldn't impact on career prospects, but maybe that's naive. As an ally to the community, I am proud to work for such a diverse business, at all levels of seniority.

More education and awareness around unconscious bias is still needed, especially around the benefits of having diversity in a business or team.

Pride month is a time to celebrate how far things have come, but is also a good time to take time to educate yourself and be aware that more still needs to happen to achieve true equity.
