All our GPs are handpicked by us and are GMC registered, with at least five years’ experience of working within the NHS. They are specially trained in virtual consultations, which means you can feel reassured that your health is in safe hands.

Advanced Clinical Practitioners

The team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) are all highly qualified in clinical practice and can help with a wide variety of health concerns and are your ‘go-to’ if you have a minor ailment or a flare up of illness. Advanced Clinical Practitioners appointments are available 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday - including public holidays.

What can our Advanced Clinical Practitioners do?

  • Assess your condition.
  • Diagnose and treat your symptoms, including issuing prescriptions.
  • Plan any follow up treatment that is needed.
  • If needed they can also refer you for further treatment.

Most of the time you can get an appointment on the same day, usually within four hours*.

Appointments with Advanced Clinical Practitioners are available Monday – Sunday, including bank holidays between 8am and 10pm. If attempting to make an appointment outside of these hours, the next available GP appointment will be offered.

Doctor Care Anywhere GPs can treat and provide non-emergency medical advice. Examples of things we treat are: allergies, anxiety, asthma, backache, chest infection, childhood illness, cough, colds, cystitis, depression, digestive problems, ear, nose and throat problems (e.g. sinusitis, sore throat, earache), hay-fever, headache, migraine, men’s health, skin problems (e.g. acne, rash, infection), stress, urinary tract infection and women's health.

We are not an emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, you’ll need to call go to your nearest A&E in the UK or dial 999.

Here are some of the medical emergencies for which you should visit A&E immediately: chest pain, haemorrhage, obstetric/pregnancy complications, severe abdominal pain, suspected stroke, severe infections, severe mental health (such as severe depression, anxiety, psychosis or mania), traumatic injuries.

Patients who access our service through a pay-as-you-go subscription, an employee healthcare scheme or through an insurance provider can speak to one of our clinicians wherever they are in the world for advice regarding their health concern.

Patients who access our service through a pay-as-you-go subscription, an employee healthcare scheme or through an insurance provider can use the Doctor Care Anywhere platform internationally.

If you're in a country outside the EEA, we will provide advice on the best course of action. You will be able to collect your medication 'over-the-counter' in many countries, but we recommend that you seek local advice when seeking a trusted pharmacy.

Other countries are subject to strict regulatory rules and you may need a prescription from a local doctor before you can collect your medication. Our clinicians can recommend appropriate medication during your consultation, but we can't guarantee that you'll be able to source the medication without a local prescription.

We can provide an advisory service, but you may need to seek advice and prescription from a local doctor.

Your subscription entitles you to as many consultations as you need with Doctor Care Anywhere for one year. This is subject to our fair usage policy set out in our terms and conditions.
