Booking an appointment with Doctor Care Anywhere only takes a minute. Just login via your computer or device, find a time that works for you and book your appointment the same day.

  • We are open 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Our appointments are 20 minute in length so you'll have plenty of time to discuss whatever is on your mind - no matter how big or small. If you think you'll need more, you can always just book back-to-back appointments
  • Choose your doctor by their name (if you've seen them before), by the areas they specialise in or by gender if you'd specifically like to speak to a male or female doctor

Have a consultation

Patients get an email and text reminder 10 minutes before their appointment is due to start.

  • Speak to a doctor using your computer or laptop, or via our app on your smartphone or tablet, or just over the phone
  • Get secure access to your patient record during the call. Discuss any previous history on your Doctor Care Anywhere record with your doctor
  • Read through your updated, jargon free notes after your consultation so you know exactly what you need to do to start feeling better.

Get the right treatment

After your appointment, your Doctor will type up all the notes from your consultation and add them to your patient record.

  • Our GPs can prescribe the medication you need during your consultation. Depending where you are, we can advise you on the best way to access prescriptions locally or you have medication delivered to you directly

Get referred to a specialist

Following on from your consultation you may be referred to a specialist for further treatment.

  • Depending on your policy with Health-on-Line, if required you will be provided with a an open referral letter or this can be sent to Health-on-Line directly as part of the Fast Track referral scheme where Health-on-Line contacts you to book your specialist appointment
  • Your referral will be securely stored on your patient record where you can download it as a PDF to share with your specialist, health insurer or whoever you need to

What we don’t treat

Doctor Care Anywhere is not an emergency medical service so we don’t treat emergencies. If you think you have a medical emergency, please call 111/999 or go to an A&E in the UK.

Here are some examples of medical emergencies we don’t treat:

  • Difficulty in breathing or severe shortness of breath
  • Chest pain/suspected heart attack
  • Suspected stroke or seizures
  • Severe pain especially of sudden onset
  • Severe infections
  • High fever in unwell infants
  • Obstetric or pregnancy complications
  • Severe bleeding
  • Serious trauma to head, spine or limbs
    (e.g. broken bones or burns)
  • Severe mental health concerns
    (e.g. self harm, suicidal thoughts or psychosis)

Can I get a same day appointment?

Most of our patients can get an appointment on the same day.

Can Doctor Care Anywhere treat emergencies?

Doctor Care Anywhere GPs can treat and provide non-emergency medical advice. Examples of things we treat are: allergies, anxiety, asthma, backache, chest infection, childhood illness, cough, colds, cystitis, depression, digestive problems, ear, nose and throat problems (e.g. sinusitis, sore throat, earache), hay-fever, headache, migraine, men’s health, skin problems (e.g. acne, rash, infection), stress, urinary tract infection and women's health.

We are not an emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, you’ll need to call go to your nearest A&E in the UK or dial 999.

Here are some of the medical emergencies for which you should visit A&E immediately: chest pain, haemorrhage, obstetric/pregnancy complications, severe abdominal pain, suspected stroke, severe infections, severe mental health (such as severe depression, anxiety, psychosis or mania), traumatic injuries.

Can I speak to a doctor when I am abroad?

You can speak to one of our doctors wherever you are in the world. Prescription fulfillment support is dependent on local laws but we will help as much as we can. In the UK and Europe prescriptions can be fulfilled in any pharmacy. Outside of Europe our doctors will give patients advice on the best medication to pick up locally. In countries where local laws prohibit the medication you need without a local doctor's prescriptions there is a delivery from the UK option to all our patients. Please note, these do incur often quite significant delivery charges and are subject to custom restrictions and delays.

Can I use my prescription internationally?

Patients who access our service through a pay-as-you-go subscription, an employee healthcare scheme or through an insurance provider can use the Doctor Care Anywhere platform internationally.

For those patients, if you're in a country that's a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), we can send your prescription through to a local pharmacy. Our admin team will let you know when your medication is ready, so you can collect it.

If you're in a country outside the EEA, we will provide advice on the best course of action. You will be able to collect your medication 'over-the-counter' in many countries, but we recommend that you seek local advice when seeking a trusted pharmacy.

Other countries are subject to strict regulatory rules and you may need a prescription from a local doctor before you can collect your medication. These countries include the Channel Islands, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Our doctors can recommend appropriate medication during your consultation, but we cannot guarantee that you'll be able to source the medication without a local prescription.

How many appointments am I entitled to?

You subscription entitles you to unlimited consultations with Doctor Care Anywhere for one year. This is subject to our fair usage policy set out in our terms and conditions.
