What is Doctor Care Anywhere?

Doctor Care Anywhere is doctor founded, patient focused online international GP service that helps make it easy for people to look after their health, anytime, anywhere.

 We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and provide calm, reassuring care and advice through our video and phone GP consultations as well as private prescriptions, specialist referrals and fit notes. In addition to having 24/7 access to your secure medical record, we also have various tools and tracking systems to help patients monitor and manage their own health and use our service wherever they are in the world. 

We are also the virtual GP provider for AXA PPP.

What consultation skills are required?

You will be consulting patients on non-urgent clinical complaints through a video or telephone calls.  Great communication and basic IT skills are essential as is confidence in consulting patients remotely.  We provide full training on the Doctor Care Anywhere platform as well as training in telemedicine skills, mock consultations and supervised calls.

What equipment do I need?

All you need is your own video-enabled computer and a good broadband internet connection.

Can I work from home?

You can work from your home or your surgery. All you need is your own video-enabled computer and a good broadband internet connection.

What hours can I work?

Doctor Care Anywhere provides consultations 8am-10pm, 365 days a year. We break these down into 2 hour and 4 hour sessions that you can choose to work on a regular basis. Sometimes additional work may also be available on an ad hoc basis. All we ask is that you work a minimum of 6 hours per week. 

What type of patients will I be seeing?

Our patients come to us from a wide range of sources including private medical insurers, affinity schemes and corporate occupational health cover to private individuals.

What sort of conditions do patients tend to use Doctor Care Anywhere for?

Our patients present themselves with all of the conditions that you would normally experience when working in a surgery. The sort of routine primary care conditions we treat are:

  • Allergies
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Asthma
  • Coughs and colds
  • Depression and low moods
  • Diarrhoea and vomiting
  • Ear, nose and throat problems
  • Hay-fever
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Men’s health
  • Musculoskeletal problem (backache, joint/muscular pain)
  • Skin conditions
  • Sleeping difficulty and tiredness
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Women's health (menstrual problems)
Is Indemnity Insurance Provided?

Full medical malpractice indemnity insurance is provided. This is a group cover policy which covers you for all the work that you undertake on the platform. 

Are there any additional benefits?

As well as a competitive package, flexible working hours and full training and support, we provide private personal medical insurance cover (which is extendable to family members), Doctor Care Anywhere membership subscription for you and your family and online CPD training membership.

What rates are paid for work undertaken for DCA?

The rate is £45 per hour for weekday sessions. Weekend sessions (starting at 6pm on a Friday) are paid at £55 per hour and we pay a ‘locum’ rate of £65 per hour for shifts that are difficult to fill or which we need to staff at short notice.

Is training provided?

Yes there is. We have developed a unique training programme for our GPs. Our training and support programme includes a 1 day training session at our offices in Farringdon, London, telemedicine consultation skills training and ongoing mentoring, support and reviews. All training and travel expenses are paid for.

What sort of support is available to the doctors who work for you?

We know that finding the right doctors is what makes our service really stand out.

That’s why we go out of our way to make sure that all our doctors get to work how they want and when they want with the best support and training. 

Our Clinical Governance Team offer on-going support to all the doctors working with Doctor Care Anywhere and we have our own in-house clinical team who are responsible for interviewing, training, mentoring and supporting our doctors. All our doctors receive regular reviews and appraisals in addition to on-going training.
